_{Oh loveless cue nostalgic ramble feel free to skip!

Age 12, discovered and read all the scanlations- excitedly got very into it!! Make giant collage with exacto knife, paving the way towards my life or exacto knifing shit all over the place!!

Age 13, maybe 14- Went out and bought for, ~75 dorrah, with my christmas money, the first 7 books!! Oh ectasy! Quickly tell curious mom that protagonist is actually a girl!

Age 16- Walks into used Japanese used bookstore, and is confronted with 1-8 all lined up in the 100 yen rack- buys buys buys ~!

Loveless is a pretty amazing series, I think, when you get over the approximate 3 asexual creepy pedo parts. The characters are really well done, I think. I have always marveld at how easily my emotions were twisted towards the authors will; I adore all the characters you're meant to, and the main antagonist is so believably detestable that I can't hate but loath him completely. Usually my likes go all over the place.
There are definitely points buried deep enough that I didn't catch at 12, and then there definitely points I couldn't have caught in the English version, because the way it's written in Japanese doesn't have a perfect translation. It's interesting to look at it in this way, having, to a certain extent, worshiped it for all of my art career, loved it for a decent chunk of my life, and suddenly seeing it in a totally different way. I'm sure someday when I'm fluent in both languages I'll pick it up again and find something new.

In other news he is yanking on a very long cord for a light! Those are popular here! And I always play with things when I'm on the phone with my feet and hands and make stupid faces and that's kind of where this came from.}

This is really beautiful! I love his orange shirt and how it contrasts against the blue's...
I also loved your quick summary of why you love Loveless. I kind of feel the same way, you really can read it over and over again and I love books and manga's and whatnot like that.
